The time is racing upon us. The time when we look at ourselves in the mirror, look at the shorts, t-shirts and swimwear we wore last summer and worry about how we will appear in them when we take our first tentative steps onto the beach or our first laps in the pool. Do we still have time to get rid of those rolls that magically appeared around out waist last fall? And if not, are we “confined to quarters” watching those youngsters run around in scantily clad outfits on spring break? “Do I have to run back to Macy’s to replace my favorite summer outfits?”
Well, I haven’t conceded defeat yet. I started my weight loss program back after New Year’s, and despite occasional lapses I am sticking to it. Fish, fruit and green vegetables, few starches and little or no sugar or salt. And daily walking and exercise to tighten up all that extra skin that is taking the space I once had in my waistband. And I am saving my Macy’s Groupon coupon not to buy larger-sized versions of last year’s summer wardrobe, but to get new items that will assure that I have the best looking and up-to-date outfits – including swimsuits – to wear for this summer! That way I can be certain they will not just look good but they will fit perfectly as well.
So even though I am dedicated to this new healthy diet and exercise regimen, I still am confident that I can find the best outfits at the most affordable prices from Macy’s when I take advantage of their Groupon coupons to reduce the prices. I don’t intend to be one of those guys who looks great one year and looks like Father Time the very next. So I follow my diet faithfully, even took some courses in preparing tasty low-calorie dishes on the barbecue. And I go out and exercise twice a day. I take special pleasure when I pass some of those college youngsters who walk real fast, but who can’t able to make it over a long distance. I may not be a contestant in the Olympics but I can still hike further than a lot of those kids. And I rely on Macy’s to provide the shoes and athletic wear to make my walks comfortable and invigorating. Between Macy’s, Groupon and myself I will have no problem looking fit come this summer.
